RANT | Unplugging the television

“Being in a minority, even in a minority of one, did not make you mad. There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.”

George Orwell said in the dystopian novel 1984, that “The choice for mankind lies between freedom and happiness and for the great bulk of mankind, happiness is better.”

Mainstream television has been telling us what happiness is, and more and more psychonauts and explores are waking up and realizing that happiness comes from within, happiness comes from being free to decide what nurtures their soul.  Technology is neutral typically, and is dependent on its user on how it is used. We can bypass the reality tv facade and the relentless ads for a more aesthetic, metaphorical, or informative purpose and by using critical thinking we can deprogram ourselves and reprogram ourselves into the people we want to be.  In our day in age, the internet can provide us with most of our content, we can stream the specific shows we want without commercials and we are able to keep our mind intact and ad free so that we are not influenced by mainstream medias detrimental effects on the human condition. Films, documentaries, video games, certain television shows are made for the sake of making art.  If theres an intelligence behind the media, the critical thinkers will resonate with it. We must continue to create conscious media so that we use it as a tool for spiritual growth of our species and our planet.

You might as well turn off your television because we are not going to get this transformational effect from mainstream news and their mediocre programming.
Inner journeying has nothing to do with television programming.
Yes there are some wonderful television programs out there but when you are watching reality television and are hooked, you have given up control over your own life.
Mainstream news does not focus on the wonderful people who perform acts of kindness each day.
Television and mainstream music is sort of one last ditch to keep our eyes off the prize.
Mediocre programming is made to make us mediocre.
There are no shows about meditation or qi gong even though in the eastern world, these are staples of their physical, mental and spiritual diet.
Spending less time on the internet and more time in contemplative thought will result in a inner transformation.
There is a reason why we are not given a plethora of enlightened content.
If we wake up to our cultural conditioning and move past it, then we don’t need them, and that is something that is common knowledge between both sides.

So how do they keep control and how do we take back ours?
They want us to believe that the world is a dangerous place.
The world may be a dangerous place but the real dangerous people are the people who are willing to sacrifice thousands of peoples of lives for monetary gain.
Thanks to the internet, people have been able to give themselves a voice.
There is misinformation but there is also golden nuggets of truth that we are shown.

If you go down one rabbit hole too far, you may not be able to differentiate truth from embellished truth based on personal bias.
The people of this world are starting to unite bit by bit and ultimately this will lead to a change of values.
Our new leaders will not be sworn in the way they are these days.
Transparency is what our society wants and we must be willing to put our necks on the line for it.
Our new leaders will be unafraid to put all the facts about corporate greed on the table.
Our new leaders will be strengthened by the power of numbers.
Our world feels duped, tricked and mislead.
This is going to end, and its going to end, when we all wake up collectively to the concresent of realizations.
That there is a world out there where the fundamental values that we have been bred with are no long relevant.
